Packaging, installation, and licensing changes

SaxonJ 13 is built and tested using Java 21, but is supported with Java 17 or later.

SaxonCS 13 is built and tested using .NET 10, but is supported with .NET 8 or later.

From 13.0, the Home Edition of SaxonCS becomes available, so SaxonCS is now distributed in two editions: SaxonCS-HE and SaxonCS-EE.

The XPath parser and tokenizer have changed beyond all recognition in the 25 years since they were first forked from James Clark's xt implementation. The open-source license terms relating to these components have therefore been removed.
